Nicky Richards, our Company Secretary, recently completed the Three Peaks Challenge, raising funds for the Meningitis Trust.
As one of their sponsors, Nicky wrote us this nice letter;
It seems like yesterday as I can still remember the pain, but it was two weeks ago today that I took on the three peaks challenge with my team and 29 other people from Meningitis Now.
I am very pleased to say that I reached the summit of all three peaks 🙂
First was Snowdon, where the weather was horrific with wind, torrential rain, fog and hail. Unfortunately there were no views at all.
Then came Scaffel Pike in the middle of the night. We reached the summit at 2.15 am and as we descended and the sun rose it was gorgeous and almost made the pain worthwhile.
Then was the big one, Ben Nevis. This mountain goes on forever and we had fabulous weather up until the last hour and the views were amazing. Unfortunately it was cloudy at the top but we had made it and even through some snow.
Getting down off that mountain was the hardest thing for me and took a very long time. I made it down at 9.20 pm, completing it all in just about 34 hours.
It was truly the hardest thing I have ever done but I am so pleased I completed it, for me but also in memory of my Mum and for the amazing charity we are supporting who are saving lives and rebuilding the futures of the survivors of a very nasty disease. We are still collecting in some money but we should have raised £5,000.
Thank you so much for your donation and support, it really means so much to me.
